VEX Robotics is a worldwide robotics competition. VEX Robotics has been recognized by Guinness to be the worlds largest robotics competition. It's a competition between elementary through university students. All games are played on a 12 ft by 12 ft foam grid. There has been a total of 13 games so far going into 2020. All games are different consisting of a whole different plot to develop your robot to. Some basic rules of VEX Robotics game is that each robot is pared with an alliance, and they are to compete against 2 other robots. There is a red team, and a blue team. Robots cannot exceed over an 18 inch cube until the match begins. Games start with a 15 second autonomous period, meaning that the robot drives it self using coding. After the autonomous period their is a driver control period where the team has 1 minute and 45 seconds to use a remote to control the robot to get as many points as they can.
The goal is to high more points than your opposing alliance by scoring mobile goals in goal zones, having the highest stacks of cones on mobile goals, stacking cones on the two goal posts and by parking your robot.
The goal is to score higher than the opposing alliance by scoring caps, scoring flags and by alliance parking or center parking robots on the three platforms.
Tower takeover is the 2019-2020 VEX Robotics game. The object of the game is to score as many points possible by stacking cubes in goals and placing cubes in towers. Whoever with the highest points win the game. There are five neutral towers, two alliance towers, twenty two green cubes, twenty two purple cubes, twenty two orange cubes, and four goals. Each cube is scored by one point for being in a goal. Every cube that is in a tower increases all the points in the goals that are similar colors by one. Towers can only have one cube in each of them. Alliance towers are the only towers that can not be altered but neutral towers can be changed by the other team. Winning autonomous is scored by an extra 6 points or an extra 3 points if their is a tie. Whomever wins autonomous gets an extra two purple cubes to place during the driver period.
